What is Disability Care?

Rosebuds’ in-home Adult Disability Care program helps propel those living with a physical, intellectual, developmental and/or sensory disability toward a happier, healthier, and safer quality of life, in the comfort of your home and community.

An experienced Rosebuds’ caregiver can assist you or a loved one with in-home care support for:

Physical disabilities – Such as Spinal cord injuries, Traumatic Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, and loss of limbs.

Intellectual and developmental disabilities: Such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, and Spina bifida.

Sensory disabilities: Such as deafness, blindness, and more.

There are numerous other types of disabilities for which we can provide care and support.

Rosebuds’ Disability care at home is highly personalized to the individual’s needs and abilities. Services can include assistance with mobility and transfers (help moving from bed to wheelchair, for example), support with personal care such as bathing and grooming, medication reminders, meal preparation with consideration for any dietary needs, and help with errands or attending appointments. Caregivers also provide companionship and encourage clients in therapeutic activities or exercises recommended by their doctors or therapists. In short, our in-home disability care covers daily living tasks and supportive care to ensure the client can live as independently and safely as possible at home.

Supporting Independence and Dignity, to Improve Quality of Life of Adults with Disability

A caregiver gently holding an elderly woman's hands.

Having the right support at home empowers adults with disabilities to live fuller, more independent lives. Instead of relying solely on family or facing challenges alone, the individual has a well- trained, compassionate Rosebuds’ caregiver who understands their unique needs. This means routine tasks become easier and stress-free, they can get dressed, have meals, and move around with confidence because help is always there. Beyond practical help, Rosebuds’ caregivers provide friendly companionship, which reduces feelings of isolation and boosts mental well-being. There’s also consistency and personalized care (the same familiar faces, following a routine tailored to the client), which can be very important for individuals who thrive on structure. Overall, in-home care removes many barriers – it turns “I can’t do that” into “I can, with a little help,” greatly enhancing day-to-day quality of life.
